Bail is set at $10,000 recognizance each for two defendants accused of taking a large amount of steel from a Manitowoc business.

53-year-old Paul A. Hermann of Manitowoc is charged with two Counts of Felony Theft, while 26-year-old Austin K. Verselak is charged with One Count of Felony Theft. Buttweld Reducing Tees

Police were first called to called to Sparteck Polycom on April 29th as approximately $8,700 worth of stainless-steel elbows were stolen.

Authorities responded a second time on June 1st as an estimated $10,800 of steel pipes were taken.

In Both crimes, surveillance video captured a white Ford Explorer that was discovered parked on Chicago Street.

Officers were able to interview Hermann, who admitted to committing the thefts along with Verselak and both men were taken into custody.

Conditions of bail are that both defendants are to have “no contact” with one another, Sparteck Polycom or any scrap related business.

Initial appearances are scheduled for June 20th at 1:30.
