On-demand manufacturing services provider Quickparts (Seattle, Wash.) has acquired Xcentric Mold & Engineering (Clinton Township, Mich.), a provider of quick-turn injection molding and CNC capabilities, with two facilities, nearly 100 employees and more than 30 injection molding machines located in Michigan (read more about Xcentric). Quickparts will now have seven operations globally, including three in the U.S. (Seattle, Wash.; Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and Clinton Township, Mich.) and four in Europe (Wycombe, England; Babenhausen, Germany; Joué-l’Abbé, France; Pinerolo, Italy). The company offers on-demand prototyping and production manufacturing via stereolithography, selective laser sintering, direct metal printing, CNC machining, injection molding, cast urethane, sheet metal manufacturing, and die casting.
Quickparts is a portfolio company of private equity firm Trilantic North America (New York). In a release, Quickparts said Xcentric will augment its ability to offer injection molding, CNC machining and other critical services.
