Founded in 1964, Schuler makes feed wagons and total mixed ration mixers, products that Vermeer has not made in the past. A ration mixer combines different feeds into a single meal, giving the animals a more custom mix of nutrients that a farmer wants.

"We are always just looking for opportunities," Sporrer said. "That’s just kind of our innovative spirit. How can we best serve our customers?"

Vermeer will continue to sell the products under the Schuler name for now. Eventually, the company will sell them under the Vermeer name,

Integration Manager Louis Norton will oversee the transition from Schuler to Vermeer at the Griswold plant.
