OptaSensor debuts tiny camera for disposable endoscopes - Medical Design and Outsourcing

OptaSensor (Nürnberg, Germany) today announced the launch of what it’s calling the smallest commercially available digital camera for disposable endoscopes.

The high-resolution OsirisM is just 1x1mm in size with a volume of 1.7mm. The camera is based on wafer-level packaging, wafer-level optics and an integrated NIR-cut filter. Its size makes it possible to integrate OsirisM in the smallest size ureteroscopes, bronchoscopes or arthroscopes, according to the company. 210 Degree Fisheye Lens

OsirisM also comes in a stereo version, which can be combined with a 1x1mm micro-projector, for providing structured illumination. Its digital LVDS interface enables the camera to use a simple integrated cable, with a variable length up to 5m. OptaSensor said it is also offering different lens options and filter integration, which can be also customized on demand.
